Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a Rental Agreement provided at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle collection. This document outlines the terms, conditions, insurance information, charges, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the latter will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire in Sandwell, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type, with extra fees applicable for drivers under 25. A valid, full driving licence corresponding to the vehicle category is required, held for the duration specified in the Rental Agreement. You will need to present valid identification and proof of your current address, along with payment information and a security deposit. Additional criteria may be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Sandwell location. To confirm your booking, a deposit may be necessary. The full payment and a security deposit are generally required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where relevant. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is necessary to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage right away. A vehicle condition report will be completed and must be signed by both parties. The vehicle should be returned in the same condition as it was collected, allowing for ordinary wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. The vehicle must also be returned with the same fuel level as when it was picked up; refueling charges will apply for any discrepancies. If you expect to return the vehicle late, please notify us as soon as possible, as late fees may be incurred. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges that arise during your rental period, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. Full coverage details and excess amounts are specified in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to lower your financial exposure. It is important to review these options closely. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless additional coverage is obtained. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse is your responsibility, irrespective of insurance.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For specific information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities, including racing or off-roading. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purpose and within the specified passenger and weight limits. Operating outside the agreed geographical boundaries requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Sandwell is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, nor for loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the rental amount paid in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in this region.
10. Updates to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect as soon as they are posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
